Dr. Liu Ming is the head of General Motors in Shanghai, China’s new materials research laboratory science experiment group. As part of GM’s global R & D network, he is currently leading a study lightweight materials, including study of new high-strength steel, aluminum and magnesium alloys. He joined GM in 2011 as a senior research institute. In 2010, he received his PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia.
After obtaining a doctorate, he published a series of papers on corrosion of magnesium materials and lectures in international journals and conferences.
